Disclaimer
These calculators are educational tools. They are not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and no result on this site is an offer, a quote, or an approval.
No professional relationship
Using this site does not create an advisory, fiduciary, or client relationship of any kind. We are not your accountant, mortgage broker, financial planner, insurance agent, or lawyer, and nothing here is tailored to your circumstances — the calculators cannot see your credit file, your full tax history, your marital property arrangements, or the particular wording of a contract you are considering.
Estimates, not determinations
Results are estimates computed from published 2026 figures and typical lender rules. Your actual outcome will differ, sometimes materially, because of factors the models do not include: credit adjudication, lender-specific policies, appraisal outcomes, employer pension adjustments, prior-year carry-forwards, the alternative minimum tax, provincial credits and benefits not modelled, and the details of your own filing history.
The methodology page lists the significant assumptions and the places where a reasonable person would choose differently. Read it before relying on a figure.
Not a credit or mortgage approval
The affordability, mortgage, HELOC, refinance, loan and vehicle calculators model how lenders typically qualify borrowers. They are not an application, a pre-approval, a rate hold, or a commitment to lend, and no lender is bound by anything shown here. Actual rates, fees, penalties and qualification depend entirely on the lender you approach. Prepayment penalties in particular vary by contract; an interest rate differential calculation at your lender may use a different comparison rate than the one modelled.
Not tax advice
Tax calculations are simplified. Credits, deductions, elections, attribution rules and anti-avoidance provisions that could change your result are omitted. Rates and thresholds also change — federal and provincial budgets routinely adjust them, sometimes with retroactive effect — and a figure that was correct when entered may no longer be. Only the Canada Revenue Agency and the relevant provincial authority can determine what you owe.
Not investment advice
Projections that involve a rate of return require you to supply that rate. They are arithmetic on your assumption, not a forecast and not a recommendation. Investment returns are not guaranteed, past performance does not indicate future results, and the value of an investment can fall. No calculator here evaluates whether a particular security, fund, GIC, or insurance product is suitable for you.
Not insurance advice
The life insurance calculator applies a general needs-analysis method. It does not assess underwriting, policy wording, exclusions, riders, or whether coverage is appropriate for your circumstances, and it does not account for survivor benefits you may already be entitled to. Only a licensed insurance professional can advise on coverage.
Accuracy and availability
We take care with the figures and correct errors when they are reported, but the site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The site may be unavailable, and content may be changed or removed without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of this site or reliance on any result it produces. Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, so parts of this limitation may not apply to you.
Third-party links
Where we link to a government publication or another external resource, we do not control that content and are not responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement.
Canadian residents
The site models Canadian federal, provincial and territorial rules and assumes you are a resident of Canada for tax purposes for the full year. If you emigrated, immigrated, or were a resident of more than one province during the year, the calculations will not reflect your situation.
